Creating a culture we’re proud of

Updated: Feb 8, 2023

Great things in business are never done by one person, they’re done by a team of people. And at CleanTEC, we have the privilege of experiencing these great things first-hand every day, all thanks to our team and the work culture that’s been created through the years.

According to the Chartered Institute of Personal Development (CIPD) over half of all UK employees want a workplace culture with a ‘family-feel’, and yet barely a quarter of UK businesses describe the culture of their current workplace this way. At CleanTEC, we are very proud to be in that quarter and are proud of the work culture we’ve developed, which our employees enjoy and thrive in.

Mountain-top experiences

From the daily fast turnarounds with clients to the not so daily hikes up the slopes of various Munros, the CleanTEC team always give it their all.

A few weeks ago, a few members of our team climbed Ben Lomond – some of whom were completely new to hiking in general! Despite a thunderstorm to finish and a flat battery in one of our vans, everyone powered through as a team, encouraging each other when the going got tough.

Employee Wellbeing

Work plays a crucial part in most people’s lives, but not just because it provides a necessary source of income. At CleanTEC, we truly understand that the work we undertake has the potential to give us a sense of purpose, achievement, and boost our self-esteem, as well providing us with an opportunity to socialise and build friendships with our colleagues.

As an employer, we understand that it is our duty to provide a supportive, inclusive workplace that can help prevent new mental health problems and support people struggling with their mental health and general wellbeing. Our ‘family dynamic’ has helped enormously with this, as we are frequently able to have open conversations so that everyone knows what support is available to them and how to access it to help them stay well at work.

All voices heard

Fundamentally, we understand that people want to work for companies that care for their employees and care about the world in which they operate. For this reason, our whole workplace is built around respect, common goals, and communication. We want our team to know that we care about what they have to say, from sharing their personal interests to suggesting more efficient practices for the business.

“I love working at CleanTEC because all the staff are lovely and friendly and manage to put a smile on my face every single time, no matter how I’m feeling” – Leah, Cleaner - recently started

“We come together as a team and make sure no-one is left struggling behind. We are just one big work family that cares and support each other.”

– Nicola, Team Leader - long standing employee

“I was welcomed into CleanTEC with open arms. I love making memories with the CleanTEC family. The days out are fantastic as it gives you a chance to get to know everyone, explore different things - especially the recent hill climb which was great fun.”

– Lewis, Cleaner - started this summer

“The squad I work with feel like a family and I feel valued as an employee.”

– Stuart, Window cleaner

“It’s like working with family, we look after one another.”

– Lynette, Team Leader - long standing employee
